Texas is known for a wealth of sports talent including baseball. Many native Texans have worked up through the minor leagues to become Major League Baseball players. Here we check-in with them and see how they have been doing in the 2013 season. In the American League, each team has at least one player except for the Kansas City Royals and the Houston Astros, which is kind of ironic since they are located in Texas. Here is a list compiled with stats for each of the remaining teams. These lists include players who were born in Texas.

Drake Britton is originally from Waco and went to high school in Tomball. The pitcher made his Major League debut this season on July 20, 2013. Since then, he has pitched in three games for a total of three innings with an ERA of 0.00.
Abilene native John Lackey currently holds a record of seven wins and seven losses with a 2.95 ERA. He has pitched 106.2 innings over the course of 17 games striking out 100 batters only allowing 35 runs and 23 walks.
Brandon Workman, a Bowie native, also made his Major League debut this year pitching on July 10, 2013. Since then he has one loss on his record posting an ERA of 4.40 striking out 13 walking three batters.
Brock Holt has played in 10 games for Boston. The utility infielder from Fort Worth has a .290 batting average with nine hits and eight RBIs while picking up three walks.
Chicago White Sox
Austin native John Danks has had a bit of a rough season posting a record of two wins and eight losses. He currently has an ERA of 4.81 striking out 52.
Adam Dunn is originally from Houston. The utility player has clubbed 24 homers and 61 RBIs with a batting average of .212 while drawing 50 walks.
The Indians have three players from Houston. Pitcher Matt Albers has posted a record of two wins and one loss with an ERA of 2.95. In 36.2 innings, he has struck out 24 while walking 18. Fellow pitcher Scott Kazmir has six wins and four losses on his record. His ERA currently sits at 3.96 through 100 innings. He has struck out 90 batters while only walking 35. Outfielder Michael Bourn is also from Houston. He has a .292 batting average with 87 hits and 13 stolen bases and 25 RBIs.

New York Yankees

Tampa Bay Rays

Pitcher Joe Nathan and outfielder David Murphy are both Houston natives. Nathan has been highly effective earning 32 saves while posting a record of one win and one loss with an ERA of 1.73 and striking out 44 batters. Murphy has 74 hits on the season including 11 home runs and 33 RBIs with a .224 batting average.
Designated hitter Lance Berkman calls Waco home. He has posted a .254 batting average with 62 hits including six home runs with 34 RBIs.
