Lots of oohs and ahhs filled the air Tuesday night at Pat Hartley Field at Tyler Junior College as ASA College took on CCBC-Essex in another pool play matchup. It was an intense matchup with both teams staying within reach of each other.
One goal proved to be the deciding factor in this duel with CCBC-Essex scoring the lone goal of the match in the 26th minute. CCBC worked the ball down the field and got the ball to freshman midfielder Robert Allman who scored from less than five yards in front of the goal. Allman sent the ball to the top left side of the net past ASA’s goalie.
ASA tried to fight back with several valiant attempts but CCBC’s goalie Jacob Ossie was a force to be reckoned with as he stopped every ball sent his way including back-to-back diving saves in the 80th minute to shutout ASA.
